How do I ensure I get the strongest signal strength possible? |
BendBroadband - Support - FAQs - How do I ensure I get the strongest signal strength possible?
On both the USB modem and Internet router having three bars or more provides you the signal strength you need to enjoy BendBroadband Internet and voice services. On the Internet Router, you can validate by quickly pressing the button on the lower right hand side of your router. On the USB modem, open your BandLuxe Connections Manager [Start, Programs, BandLuxe HSPA, Connection Manager]. The application will show you the signal strength in the upper left hand corner. If your USB modem or Internet Router doesn't have three bars or more, here are some tips for optimizing your signal.
-
USB Modem - move the device around your home or the location to see if the signal strength changes.
-
Internet Router - Reposition your Internet Router by turning it slowly clockwise to see if you are able to pick up a better signal. Or try setting up the Internet Router in another room in your home. Sometimes, placing your Internet Router close to a window will help.
Lastly, you may purchase an external antenna. Call us at 541-382-5551 to order.

What are some causes of excessive bandwidth? |
BendBroadband - Support - FAQs - What are some causes of excessive bandwidth?
1. Peer-to-peer file sharing applications may be the problem. These programs operate as file servers by default and offer files from your hard drive to other Internet users, possibly resulting in excessive bandwidth usage without your knowledge.
2. If you have an unsecured wireless home network, there is a possibility that other people are using your wireless network without your knowledge which can also cause increased bandwidth usage. Please secure your connection with a password to block others from using your files. To secure your wireless network, please refer to the Welcome Guide.
3. Your computer may be infected by a computer virus. A virus will often send out mass emails from your computer without your knowledge. Installing antivirus software on your computer and scanning for possible infections may resolve this issue.
Please note: BendBroadband offers PC Protection Plus software provided by F-Secure(R). Please visit our web portal at my.bendbroadband.com to sign-up for F-Secure(R) PC Protection Plus, or buy our 50GB or 20GB products to receive this software for free.

What types of telephones work with BendBroadband phone service? |
BendBroadband - Support - FAQs - What types of telephones work with BendBroadband phone service?
Any standard corded or cordless touchtone telephone will work with the Phone Adapter. We suggest using a cordless phone with multiple handsets to increase your level of convenience. To reduce interference with the Wi-Fi portion of your Internet service we recommend you use a 5.8 GHz cordless phone. The Wi-Fi signal operates at 2.4 GHz, so we suggest avoiding cordless phones that operate at 2.4 GHz while using Wi-Fi in the home.
